As World War 1 rages on Dr. Henry Guthrie takes over a British Choral society in a Yorkshire fictional mill town in 1916.
With conscription in force, most of the town’s working-age men have gone off to war, and its choir has been starved of its best male voices. Leaving men who are variously too old or too young to fight and the women who have to deal with the men folk’s repressed emotions … the community soon discovers that the best response to the chaos of the war is to make beautiful music …  gather a ragtag crew of amateurs to be guided by Guthrie to performing Elgar’s oratorio the Dream of Gerontius
Cast:  Jacob Dudman,  Ralph Fiennes,  Roger Allam,  Amera Okereke,  Emily Fairn   to name a few
