BRAILES FLOWER FESTIVAL AT ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH, LOWER BRAILES 28TH TO 31ST AUGUST 2015

The Brailes Flower Festival “Showstopping Weekend” is less than two weeks away and the final preparations are now being made. There are more than forty villagers and friends

pflowers 15reparing over twenty-five flower displays based on songs from British and American hit musicals. The August Bank Holiday Weekend from 28th to 31st August at St. George’s Church will be an extravaganza of flowers and music. The Church will be open from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm, with refreshments available throughout the weekend. There is a concert on the Saturday evening in the Church at 7.30 pm given by the Amicantus Choir who will be singing “Songs from the Shows”, under the direction of Maddy Evans. Entry to the Flower Festival is free and tickets for the the concert will be available at the Church Door on the Saturday evening for £5 each, with accompanied children free. Donations from the Flower Festival and the money from the concert will form a major part of the Church’s programme to raise funds for the repair of the South Aisle Roof of St. George’s Church. The cost of repairs to the 14th Century “Cathedral of the Feldon” has been estimated at £50,000. At the last Flower Festival in 2006, we had over 2000 visitors and nearly £17,000 was raised, the Festival Committee is working hard to exceed this amount.
We have undertaken an extensive programme of publicity for the event and do hope you will be able to join us over the Bank Holiday Weekend in our beautiful Cotswold Village of Brailes and help us raise the considerable sum we need. You can be sure of a very warm welcoflowers 15 2me and an experience to remember.
